A Horrible Health Scare:
Mark Ruffalo had to withdraw from the acting scene after You Can Count on Me when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After having the tumor removed and recovering from subsequent partial facial paralysis, Ruffalo took on a starring role in My Life Without Me, a film which deals with the subject of cancer. In my exclusive interview, Ruffalo told me his personal experience didn’t affect him during filming. “I think it’s just in your body, that kind of experience. It’s not something that I think you need to hammer at from scene to scene. It was a kind of thing that was part of me that becomes a part of the film.”
On December 1, 2008, Mark Ruffalo’s 39-year-old brother Scott was shot in the head, allegedly while playing Russian Roulette. Scott passed away one week later after being removed from life support.
