The daughter of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight (Coming Home) and Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina Jolie has acting in her blood. Jolie began studying at the age of 11 at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and was also a member of the MET Theatre Ensemble Workshop.

Angelina Jolie won a Golden Globe and earned an Emmy nomination for her part in the 1997 TV movie George Wallace. But her breakthrough performance came when she took on the starring role in Gia, a made-for-TV movie about the life of fashion model Gia Carangi. Jolie won a Screen Actors Guild Award and earned her second Golden Globe for her portrayal of the confused young supermodel who died of AIDS at the age of 26.
